School and Sports Physical Examinations

A sports physical examination is a commonly required medical visit for child and adolescent athletes prior to participating in any sport. The primary goal is confirming maximized health and to detect conditions that predispose any athlete to injury. Family history and physical examination will allow the providers from Valley Pediatric & Health Clinic to evaluate the presence of familial heart conditions, sudden death in the family, heart murmurs, and possibility for Marfan syndrome. Heart or lung disease, bleeding disorders, history of concussion, neurological disorders and musculoskeletal problems are also evaluated.
